Small Groups & Bible Studies
Meets on Sundays at 9:45am in room 205.
This class is a small group interested in studying Scripture and discussing its application in our personal, daily lives. Our goal is to deepen our faith through our studying, discussing, and praying. The fellowship we have with each other is meaningful and important in growing in Christ. Scripture lessons are chosen by the group and led by class member Tedi Armet . Class contact: Gerry and Carey Stephens.
Meets Sundays at 9:45 or 11:00 am in room 208
This class is composed of adults who are connected through their desire to grow their family closely with the Lord. Members include couples and individuals. Many members are involved in other work areas during the Sunday School hour, so typical attendance is often small- around 6. Lessons are selected by the class, and we use a variety of materials. Typical extra-curricular events and parties have attendance of 15-25 and usually include class members’ children. We welcome adult family members looking for a supportive fellowship group. Discussion is led by John & Beth Taylor or Lori Schomber.
Meets Sundays at 9:45am in room 110
This is a Senior class who welcomes all. We value the history of our church, founded in 1838 at the Pond Street location, and some members attended there until the church moved to its present location in 2006. The class is comprised of about 14 members, singles and couples. We open with prayer and concerns, and we use books and videos of well known Christian authors. We enjoy visiting with each other at the close of the lessons. Our leader is Sandy Rawls. Class contact: Mike Landes
Meets Sundays at 9:45am in room 210
This large class is made up primarily of retirees, who are active, involved in various church ministries, and very social. Because we are comprised of about 100 members, we break into rotating small groups outside of the Sunday School hour to get to know each other better. After opening prayer and announcements, we have a lesson the group has selected with a video and books by popular Christian authors. A cadre of class members volunteer to serve as leaders. A summary of key items from each session is emailed to all members. We study God’s Word and seek His will in our lives, sharing the Good News with others, and supporting the church by our prayers and stewardship. The class is led by Ron Gilbert
Lost & Found
Meets on Sundays at 9:45 in room 209.
A class for anyone interested in growing their relationship with Christ through study of the Bible, books and videos relating to its applicability in our lives and other sources which open our ears, hearts and understanding to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our members include both couples and singles from middle age through retirees, most of whom are active in other areas of church life. Our moderate size (typical attendance of 20-30) allows for inclusive and energetic discussion and sharing. Topics are chosen by the group with volunteers facilitating the lessons/discussion. Class periods are occasionally devoted to fellowship plus we periodically meet as a group outside of class. Class contact: Tom Sheahan
