Considering that the early church worshipped in large settings - in the synagogues - as well as in homes, we unite together similarly in order to be in deeper fellowship with God and one another. God has reconciled us not only to Himself but also to each other. This "each other" is called His Church. The mission of our Church is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. Your family is always welcome here at Montgomery UMC. At MUMC, we strive to create a safe environment that engages children through song, bible stories, and crafts so they feel encouraged to ask questions and learn to have passion for loving and serving Jesus. Children are precious and they play an important role in the church. Their abundance of energy and joy encourages the congregation to be filled with excitement to explore our faith and find ways to become involved in the community and share the love of God. With open arms, we welcome all children to attend the programs offered at MUMC. If you spend any time around our church at all, you'll quickly learn one thing: we love youth. They're smart. They're funny. They're bold. And they're bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making. That's why MUG Youth ministry is such a huge part of what we do at our church. We want to guide our youth in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He's writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives. Don't worry, all the good stuff at our church isn't just for the under 18 crowd! We have plenty of engaging events and gatherings designed to build the faith and community of our adults as well. Young or old, Christian or not, single or married, man or woman—we've got a place for you!  Our choir meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00pm and sings each Sunday during worship. Our Glory Bells (Handbells) meets on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:30and performs various times throughout the year. Our Food Pantry & Children's Clothes Closet is open to the community on the 1st & 3rd Friday and the following Saturday each month. Patrons need to be residents of MISD Zip codes. The pantry & closet are staffed by volunteers and is open 9:00-11:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Montgomery United Methodist Church continues to grow in membership and in our own personal knowledge of Jesus Christ. We are constantly expanding our ministries and mission outreach to our community. Our church has a wonderful history of Christian service to the community, and we are most grateful for those who have gone before us as we are building on their sweat and toil. We will continue to lift the banner of Jesus Christ high and set an example for our community around us.  When you walk through our doors at Tomorrow’s Promise Preschool, you’ll be greeted by a center filled with smiles, laughter, and fun! Our highly qualified teachers create an environment where children genuinely enjoy being at school. Our curriculum is designed with the whole child in mind. We offer a variety of activities that promote physical development, helping to build both large and small muscles. Additionally, we focus on cognitive growth, social skills, emotional development, and even spiritual growth. We pride ourselves on maintaining low student-to-teacher ratios, ensuring that each child receives the attention they deserve. Most importantly, our teachers love your children as if they were their own, fostering a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. We can’t wait to welcome you and your child to our wonderful community! The league is open to boys and girls from kindergarten through 6th grade, offering an inclusive environment for children to participate in sports. The teams are organized according to school grade, ensuring that participants compete with their peers. During most seasons, the MKBB program accommodates over 200 children, highlighting the significant need for a substantial volunteer base to effectively manage a league of this scale. Volunteers are essential for various roles such as coaching, team support (including both moms and dads), coordinating game days and practice nights, and providing assistance with registration. The diverse range of volunteer positions ensures that the league operates smoothly and that the children receive the support and guidance they need to fully participate and enjoy the program. As those who have been reconciled to God through the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are now ambassadors of reconciliation to a lost and broken world. We plead, urge, implore, reason, pray, serve, preach, teach and gather to see God glorified through reconciliation. At Tradition, this mission is best displayed in our communities, where we daily have the chance of living out the Gospel to those around us. Tradition's story is as unique as each of our own. The beautiful thing about Tradition's story is that God's grace and love are so deeply woven into the fibers of who we are that any success or prosperity we've experienced is a direct result of God's favor. We believe that all things exist and are being worked according to the triune God’s passion, pleasure and plan (Ephesians 1:11), which is the demonstration of His own intrinsic glory. We are people from many different backgrounds, ages and stages in life that are trying to be a place where the love of Jesus is alive by Loving God, Our Community, and each other. We hope that you will find a place within our family that we can either serve you or you can serve beside us as we grow in Christ and share His love to our community. On a typical Sunday, our Sunday School classes for all ages meet at 8:45 followed by worship at 10:00am in the Sanctuary. We only have a traditional service with hymns, scripture readings, and a choir. During the week, our doors are full of preschoolers, Bible studies, monthly men's & women's groups, youth group, kid's activities and more. You can find out mor about each of these ministries following links below on this page. Please come as you are! We believe Jesus loves all of us just as we are. We want to get to know you and want you to get to know us. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, The Gospel is ultimately about humanity being restored to God’s community. Only through practicing community will individuals grow fully in the grace and knowledge to be found in Jesus. Furthermore, it is through community that a fragmented world can best witness the power of the Gospel and the nature of God’s work. Children are precious and they play an important role in the church. Their abundance of energy and joy encourages the congregation to be filled with excitement to explore our faith and find ways to become involved in the community and share the love of God. With open arms, we welcome all children to attend the programs offered at MUMC. **Sunday School** for all ages begins at 8:45 in the Treehouse. **Nursery** is available for children 3 and under during the 10:00am service. Drop-off begins at 9:45am. **Children's Church** is available for ages 4 years old - 5th grade during the 10:00am service. Check-in and drop off your child in the children's area. We will travel to exotic locations and search for hidden treasure as we learn that Jesus is with us wherever we go. Love to sing? Dance? Act? Always looking to be on stage? This camp is the place for you! We will spend a fun-filled, action-packed week auditioning, staging and performing a musical. In addition to learning music, lines and stage blocking, there will be opportunities to learn about set construction and costuming. There will be opportunities for solo and ensemble work as well. We ask that all campers come audition for roles on Sunday afternoon so we can hit the ground running on Monday morning. No need to prepare anything for the audition, though you are welcome to do so. We will have you read for us and sing something simple. All campers will be assigned a role in the production. Have more questions? (Matthew 22:36-40) We want to encourage our youth to earnestly seek an active relationship with God, where they are always seeking to grow in their faith. The Second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor. (Matthew 22:36-40) We hope our Youth find their role in using their God-given gifts to serve alongside the greater community of Montgomery United Methodist Church. Our hope is that we can show the love of Christ to our community through our service and our love for both one another and others in our community. **MUG** (**M**ontgomery yo**U**th **G**roup) is a community of unstoppable individuals running full speed together towards all that God has for them. We are teaching our youth how to live a life that reflects the values, principles, and truth of Christian Love. We are building a generation who are ready to go out and spread the Gospel. We want them to **BE DIFFERENT** instead of just talking about it. We have the privilege to run alongside these amazing students, sharing our faith, doubts, questions, and the love of Christ. Your family is always welcome here at Montgomery UMC. This class meets Sundays at 8:45am via ZOOM and on campus (rooms 208/209). It seeks to understand the role of the Holy Spirit in guiding and empowering believers to live a life that reflects God’s love and grace. The class is open to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the Christian faith and grow in their relationship with God. It provides a supportive and welcoming environment for discussion and learning and encourages participants to apply biblical principles to their daily lives. Overall, the goal of the class is to equip believers to live out their faith in a way that brings glory to God and positively impacts the world around them. We extend a warm invitation to join us on this meaningful journey of faith, where we collectively seek to deepen our understanding of God's Word and its relevance to our daily lives. Regardless of whether you are a recent convert to the faith or have been steadfastly following the teachings of Jesus for an extended period, there is an infinite well of knowledge and spiritual growth awaiting us. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to embrace and support you as we embark on this enriching journey together, learning from each other and fostering our spiritual growth. The Morning Glories is a vibrant and inclusive women's group that provides a supportive and enriching environment for its members. The group's meetings, held on the second Wednesday of every month at 9:30 am in the Faith Center, offer a wonderful opportunity for women to come together and connect. The group's primary focus is on fostering fellowship and camaraderie among its members, creating a sense of community and solidarity. Each meeting of the Morning Glories is characterized by a diverse range of engaging activities and discussions. One of the highlights is the inclusion of a different speaker each month, who shares insights, expertise, or personal experiences on a variety of relevant and inspiring topics. This not only adds an element of excitement and anticipation to each gathering but also ensures that members are exposed to a broad spectrum of ideas and perspectives. These speakers may include professionals, community leaders, or individuals with unique life stories, providing the group with valuable knowledge and inspiration. Overall, the Morning Glories is a place where women can come together to form meaningful connections, gain new insights, and find inspiration in a warm and supportive community. It's a space where individuals can share their stories, learn from others, and build lasting friendships, making it a truly enriching and empowering experience for all who participate. The men gather monthly and meet for breakfast or dinner each month at 7:30am in the Fellowship Room or 6:30pm in the Faith Center. This regular gathering provides them with an opportunity to connect, share updates, and discuss any upcoming events or initiatives. Additionally, beyond their breakfast meetings, the men collaborate on a range of outreach projects, such as community service initiatives, fundraising efforts, or support for local charitable organizations. These projects allow them to make a positive impact in their community and work together towards common goals, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and purpose among the group. Our Winter Bible Study is underway with Pastor John leading it. It meets on Thursdays at either 10:30am or 6:30pm in room 210 in the Education Building. There is no book for this study. Each week stands alone so no need to feel lost if you miss some. Part 2 of this study will begin April 16. Our 1st & 2nd Boys, 3rd & 4th Boys, and 5th & 6th Boys teams fill quickly.** Although MKBB is associated with Upward Sports, we enforce local rules which are published on this site before online registration begins. Scores are kept for all games, regardless of level. Upward substitution rules are enforced for all grades K-4 which provides equal playing time for all players. Grades 5/6 allow the coach more flexibility in managing playing times while promoting fair game play; standings are posted and there is a year-end tournament for this division only. Experienced High School students and adults officiate all games. All coaches and assistant coaches are volunteers. **Every player must complete a skills evaluation test** before being drafted on a team.  **ATTENTION:** It is **Mandatory** for all participants to attend their scheduled Evaluation Day. If you **DO NOT** attend, you will forfeit participation in this league and **NO REFUND** will be issued. Team drafts are done by computer, and the skills test scores are the basis of the draft. This allows us to draft teams with fairly equal talent and provides for a more balanced league. **We do not honor carpool or friend requests.** Each volunteer coach is allowed to request one player whose parent will be designated as the assistant coach. Patrons need to be residents of Montgomery County in an MISD Zip code (77316, 77318, 77333, 77354, 77356, 77363, 77873) The pantry is staffed by volunteers and is open 9:00-11:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. We are operating under the Hygiene Guidelines given by the Montgomery County Food Bank. Donations to the clothes closet are gratefully accepted on the porch of the outreach building, allowing community members to contribute to this meaningful cause. At [Al-Anon](http://www.al-anon.org/) Family Group meetings, the friends and family members of problem drinkers share their experiences and learn how to apply the principles of the Al‑Anon program to their individual situations. They learn that they are not alone in the problems they face and that they have choices that lead to greater peace of mind, whether the drinker continues to drink or not. In conjunction with the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, we host four Blood Drives throughout the year. We are committed to helping save lives through this ministry.  Montgomery Kids Basketball is sponsored by Montgomery United Methodist Church and is associated with [Upward Sports](https://upward.org/). Most seasons we have over 200 children in the MKBB program.  Obviously, it requires a number of volunteers to run a league of this size. We need volunteers for coaches, team moms and dads, game day coordinators, practice night coordinators, board members, and registration support.  Please let us know if you are willing to volunteer! Each year, MUMC receives children’s names from Montgomery Independent School District (MISD) counselors at Christmas. The "Angels" are put on our tree for adoption by our members to provide toys, and/or clothing for these children.  We receive these names at the end of November and ask that gifts be returned within a couple of weeks of adoption so that they can be wrapped and given to the schools before they dismiss for Christmas break. This is a wonderful time in a person's life where they get a chance to really claim their faith as their own and begin to step into the life that God's has in store for them! We want to thank you for allowing MUMC the opportunity to walk alongside your youth in this season. This year's confirmation class will run **March 8th, 2026,** until **May 24th, 2026,** it will consist of church attendance and class sessions Sunday afternoons through the spring semester. **Confirmation Sunday will be planned for May 24th, 2026!!!** **Each Week, we will meet in the Main Youth Room from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm** **\*\*\*To be eligible for Confirmation, you must attend at least 7 out of 9 classes\*\*\*** **\*\*\*Confirmands will also be required to attend 7 out of the 9 church worship services during this time\*\*\*** **\*\*\*Week 9 is mandatory May 17th as we will have rehearsal of the confirmation ceremony**\*\*\* Also, an exciting thing we are planning to offer this year's confirmation class is a chance to connect with a synagogue and have time to talk with Rabbi Edwin Goldberg of Congregation Beth Shalom of The Woodlands. The goal of this outing is to give our confirmands the chance to learn about the Jewish nature of Jesus and maybe get a glimpse into a broader religious education and the world around them. You will find information about this in the follow up email after you sign-up! This year, confirmands will also be invited to attend TAC Confirmand Day 2026 on February 28th at Memorial Drive UMC. All these activities will encourage your child to build their vocabulary, learn social skills, become more independent, as well as develop their gross and fine motor skill, and encourage their cognitive development. Tomorrow's Promise two-year-old class works on social skills and emotional skills. The three-year-old rooms at Tomorrow's Promise are fun rooms. The children will be learning and working in centers, cooking, creating, dancing, learning about the Bible and God's plans for each of them. Our four-year-old rooms are buzzing with busy learning. They are beginning to discover the world around them and how they fit in. We talk about how they are GOD's children and learn Bible stories and how we can live GOD's way. By playing in centers, we are role modeling those things in our world and learning important skills such as cooperation and how to take turns. - We do messy activities such as shaving cream, playing at the water table, finger painting, painting at the easel, and using play dough. - All these messy activities help them to learn new vocabulary as well as develop their fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination skills. - Chapel and Bible stories - They will be in the block center learning about weight, space, science, counting, and developing their imagination skills. - In the dramatic play area, they will learn a new language, how to safely act out fears and life experiences, as well as develop social relationships. - In the sensory area, they will begin to pour, sift, measure, mix and mold things. they will begin to form basic concepts related to science and math and engage their senses. - You will see children doing tabletop activities that develop eye/hand coordination, teach them how to complete a task, teach them to match and classify, strengthen their small finger muscles that are used in writing skills, and learn about spatial relationships. - Children will be involved in art activities that focus on the process, not the product, help them expand their creative powers through color, shapes, textures, and design as well as build their attention spans. - building our social skills - learning to cooperate in group games - practicing self-help skills - learning how to follow two-step directions - we are using one-to-one correspondence - understanding that language is powerful and useful - discover that we can find out new information through books - developing the basic concepts of print - learn that we can make choices and a plan - be independent - we are busy cutting, gluing, pasting, using markers, painting - we are learning to "write" our own stories - read and act out bible stories, learn bible verses, and go to Chapel - We follow the Texas Guidelines that are recommended for Pre-K children so that the children will be more than ready for their Kindergarten year. --- ## URL: https://www.mumctex.org/tpp-about-us ### Title: TPP About Us ### Page ID: 8959297 ### Content: # About Us At Tomorrow’s Promise our primary goal is to encourage children to develop positive self- esteem and a sense of security while learning about the world around them.
